Lifeguards are essential to creating a safe guest experience at Neptune Island. Our Lifeguard Crew Members must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times while maintaining our park’s top safety standards. All lifeguards receive their certification through Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program, an internationally recognized industry leader in lifeguard training, by our Neptune Island certified lifeguard instructors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures safe entry and exit for guests from slides and attractions.

  • Maintains 10/20-protection rule over guests in their respective area.

  • Assists in trash pick-up, cleaning pools and other attractions, organizing chairs, water tubes, mats and life jackets at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Any other duties as assigned by management, supervisors or leads.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 15 years old.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to swim.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with exposure to direct sunlight, hot temperatures and other inclement weather.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds, or higher with assistance.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and work at heights up to 50 feet.

  • Must successfully complete Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program.

  • Participate in mandatory in-service training throughout the season.

  • Swim 200 yards without stopping.

  • Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands.

  • Retrieve a 10 pound brick from the bottom of a 6 foot pool.
